BOTTOM FISHING

This is a great introductory fishery for those new to ocean charter fishing.
The season begins the second Saturday in March and runs until the third Saturday of October each year. This fishery is offered all season long. The target is 7 Rockfish and 2 Lingcod – a delicious white fish often used for fish and chip meals. Rock fish can weigh anywhere between 2 to 7 pounds with Lingcod coming in at 4 to 40 pounds. These trips typically return to port between 3 and 4pm. This varies based on catch rate, distance to the fishing grounds and weather.

Departs : AT 6 AM March, April and October. 5 AM June – September

HALIBUT W/ BOTTOM FISHING

A deep-water fishing excursion, most enjoyed by those with experience with our other bottom fishing trips. Because of the depth needed for this fishery, it is often necessary to fish in a “rotation” to prevent massive line entanglements.
The season begins in May and is on certain days specified by WDFW. The target is one Halibut and two Ling cod or rockfish. This fishery is set on a quota basis and if weather limits our fishing on the designated days, WDFW will offer other days to make up for lost fishing days. These are typically offered in June.
We fish between 400 – 700 feet of water. On average, Halibut weigh around 22 lbs. but it is not uncommon to have fish on board that are over 35 lbs. These trips are longer than our nearshore fishing trips and return to port between 4 and 6 pm. This varies based on catch rate, distance to the fishing grounds and weather.

Season Starts: May 1st, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays only

DEEP WATER BOTTOM FISHING

This is the same targeted fish as bottom fishing only deeper waters which yields larger Rockfish and larger Ling cod. These trips are more enjoyable if you have some experience with a regular bottom fishing trip.
This season is open for a period of time in June and also offered in the month of September. This fishery targets 7 Rockfish and 2 Ling cod- the same delicious white fish great for baking or frying. Rock fish can weigh anywhere between 3 to 8 pounds with Lingcod coming in at 10 to 40+ pounds. It’s not uncommon to catch the vibrantly colored, Canary rockfish while on these excursions. Canaries offer slightly different flavor then other species but is favored by many as another deliciously flavored whitefish. These trips are longer than our nearshore bottom fishing trips and return to port between 4 and 5pm. This varies based on catch rate, distance to the fishing grounds and weather.

SALMON FISHING

We have fantastic days on the water catching this amazing fish. It certainly adds the “sport” to Sportfishing! Makes for some exciting fish stories.
The Salmon season differs from year to year and isn’t announced from WDFW until Mid-April. The typical opener (judging by years past) is late June, July, August and a portion of September. With a two fish limit targeting Kings (Chinook) and/or Silvers (Cohos). Kings can range from 10 to 35 pounds and Silvers range from 5 to 10 pounds. The length of the season depends on the quota we are allotted. The terms of this fishery are subject to change based on WDFW regulations.
